About Brandon
Undergraduate at Seattle University pursuing a BS in Computer Science. I am currently a Senior and have experience in data structures, computing systems, and many more CS courses. With code, I believe that there are many ways to create functioning code, however it is crucial that code be readable and efficient, therefore I also focus on best practices to create both efficient and clear code.
I work great with elementary up to high school kids and pride myself on my patience and creative approaches in my teaching style.
FOCUSES:
- Beginner C++ (loops, linked lists and arrays, sorting/searching, etc.)
- Algorithm explanation
- Best practices for coding
What I can provide for students:
- Offer different approaches to problems and topics to accommodate multiple learning styles.
- Encourage students to give their best effort before giving hint to provided problems. I will not give out answers or code without good reason!
Notes:
Given the current circumstances with COVID-19, all sessions will be virtual. I ask that all students provide the specific subjects they need help with 2 weeks prior so I can create a tailored lesson plan. If you have any accommodations such as a specific learning style please also let me know!

Teaching methodology varies depending on the student. With code, it will primarily be a visual and hands on approach which I find to be the best in terms of a learning style. Of course, I can make accommodations to suit a specific student.
I will often likely use pseudocode and pictures to explains algorithms because it is key to understand the concepts first, and then use our knowledge to create working code.
