About Catherin
I am a dedicated Flute tutor with 14 years of teaching and professional experience. Teaching music has allowed me to meet many talented students from school and college, and every lesson has strengthened my passion for education.
I believe learning the flute should be enjoyable, inspiring, and well-structured. My classes begin with the basics such as breathing, posture, hand position, finger movement, rhythm, and tone production.
Once students gain confidence, I introduce musical expression, dynamics, articulation, and performance skills. I encourage students to practice with patience and enjoy every improvement they make.
Watching students perform confidently and achieve their personal goals has been one of the most meaningful milestones in my teaching journey.
Besides flute, I also teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm practice, music appreciation, and performance preparation.
My goal is to help students build strong musical skills, confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music.

I believe that learning the flute should be enjoyable, inspiring, and rewarding. My teaching methodology is based on Motivation, Communication, Integrity, and Creativity. These values help students build confidence, improve their musical skills, and develop a lifelong love for music.
Every student is different, so I first understand their learning style, experience, and goals. I then prepare a personalized lesson plan that helps them progress comfortably. Beginners learn breathing control, posture, finger placement, note reading, rhythm, and tone production. Intermediate and advanced students work on scales, articulation, dynamics, musical expression, improvisation, and performance techniques.
I motivate students by appreciating every achievement and encouraging regular practice. My communication style is simple, patient, and friendly, making every lesson easy to understand. Students are always welcome to ask questions and share their ideas.
Integrity is one of my most important teaching values. I treat every student with honesty, respect, patience, and fairness. I create a positive classroom where students feel comfortable learning from both success and mistakes.
Creativity makes every lesson interesting. I include warm-up exercises, favorite songs, classical music, movie melodies, rhythm activities, ear training, listening exercises, and improvisation.
Besides flute, I also teach music theory, recorder, beginner keyboard, sight reading, rhythm training, performance preparation, and music appreciation. My aim is to help students become skilled, confident, and expressive musicians.
