I have been teaching for about a year however the district I am in is nothing short of challenging. My first year has shown me the importance of continuing to teach and what students need to have a healthy learning environment. This includes care, patience, persistence, and even discipline from myself as an educator and towards the student.

I teach through rigorous lesson plans that are student lead. Atypical lesson plan includes a quick fun activity for students to gain understanding of topics being covered followed by application in context with lesson. I know how to be a friend towards the student yet still maintain the respect as a teacher from the student. This helps the student learn while being comfortable to make mistakes on material in a session. My classes are typically for 5th Grade students with ESL backgrounds as well as traditional English speaking students.
