About Nathan
I am a PhD student in Philosophy with an MA in Film Studies. I spend a lot of time writing and editing everything ranging from philosophical essays to screenplays and poetry. I am passionate about teaching an languages, as I studied Mandarin at university and am currently learning French. Learning other languages also strengthen my understanding of the peculiar nature of English grammar and syntax. In sum, my experience with writing in creative and academic settings provide me with the open-mindedness and critical thinking skills required to enhance your writing.

Each session is based around feedback on a piece of writing. Students send me their writing (written for the session or tailored to another another purpose e.g. university application) before the session, I curate feedback and discuss the feedback during the session. The discussion portion is essential for ensuring a mutual understanding of the writings strengths and deficiencies, as well as for the best steps to take toward improving the writing.
