About Taryn
Taryn (Ngāti Pōrou, Ngāi Tahu) is a 36 year old tertiary tutor, currently completing her PhD at the University of Otago. Her research interests include systematic theology, the work of Stanley Grenz, Māori and indigenous theology, whāngai and adoption, and the intersection of Maori worldviews with Western theology.
Taryn also has a background as an English major and writer whose publication record includes several non-fiction books, tertiary college courses, website content, and more than 400 feature articles, reviews, and columns published in newspapers, websites, and magazines. Taryn is a full member of the New Zealand Society of Authors (NZSA).
Taryn is a trained and NZ registered secondary teacher, specialising in English, History, and Religious Studies. In 2020 she was inducted into Mensa.
