About Emma
I’m an early career researcher in gothic and horror literature, keen to pursue a career in academia. I love to teach because of those moments where things just click - there’s really nothing like it. I love getting the cogs turning, helping people to make connections between texts and think critically. I think these ways of reading can really improve a person’s relationship with reading - my ultimate goal is to inspire a new generation of readers. I’m excited to meet you!

My teaching approach is tailored for each student, taking into account their learning style and particular needs. I am as enthusiastic a tutor as I am a student, and I like to think this enthusiasm is infectious!
My lessons tend to be an hour in length but I can offer from 45 minutes to 2 hours (whatever suits the student best). I am able to tutor all levels, up to and including undergraduates.
I have a Master’s degree in English Literature and have some months of teaching experience as a current PhD student.
