I approach each novel/poem by theme. For example for a tragedy piece, highlighting the downfall, catharsis, hubris apparent in the work & then transferring those short notes into a structured and professional essay. I tend to use colours, notes & post it’s to make information stand out, I would be happy to send any notes/ materials from my studies over to you!
While I currently study Politics with business management Bsc (hons), I took English literature for 7 years through GCSE & A-Level, the following are the books/ themes on which I have taken exams (AQA GCSE, grade A/8, A-Level grade A): tragedies including Romeo & Juliet, Othello, Death of a Salesman, Blood Brothers and John Keats poetry. Dystopian/social protest writings such as The Handmaids Tale, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, 1984, The Kite Runner, William Blake. I also read a variety of books from across all genres in my free time.
