About Vanessa
I loved working at a camp where I could teach kids English, especially because they had many native languages. I found that the children's vocabulary and confidence grew, and that I was learning from them as well! Even the kids with stronger English skills benefited from the fun immersive games used during class. I am very passionate about helping others however I can and as a university student, I find it especially valuable to spend time with people outside of my little bubble on campus. I love children and teaching them languages in ways that have helped me, even as an adult, is very gratifying. English class has always been my favourite, and I love the idea of spreading the joy and appreciation I've had to others!

My lessons are more targeted towards children, the age group I have experience with. I believe in immersion through games and music, having conversations which gradually increase in complexity, and using visual aids, like picture cards and fun diagrams to improve memory and retention!
