Being a first-generation immigrant, I had to sharpen my linguistic abilities at an unusually young age. As difficult as it was, it allowed me to have a better appreciation for the learning and teaching processes, as I could better understand my students. A common saying “been there, done that”, summarizes in a simpler manner that my ability to relate to the struggles of my students is what makes my teaching style more effective and stimulating. I am a compassionate person that will only ever have my student’s best interests in mind.
