About Jade
After graduating summa cum laude from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Literature & Creative Writing, I worked as a poetry assistant to poet & scholar K(ristin) Prevallet, helping her design and facilitate an online poetry workshop through the Belladonna* School for Feminist Practice and Poetics. I then taught English language and American culture to elementary school students in France, through TAPIF (a program administered by the French embassy). In addition to my formal teaching experience, I have tutored high school students in English and essay writing. In the fall I will begin an MFA in Fiction writing at Columbia University.

As a tutor I prioritize both comprehension and skillful ability as well as maintaining morale and engagement with the subject, no matter how challenging. With significant experience teaching K-5 in elementary schools as well as private tutoring to high school students, I can help your student across a range of subjects.
