My approach to tutoring is to make learning engaging by focusing on real-world applications of English and improving incrementally with measurable and incremental improvements. I believe that learning is not just about the content, but much more about the process. I hope to inspire students to think critically for themselves and get excited about learning in their own way.
I am a University of Sheffield Postgraduate Student with a 2:1 in English Language and Literature, an A grade in A-Level English Literature, and A* (Grade 9) in both Language and Literature at GCSE. I am currently studying a Postgraduate Degree in Secondary School English Education at the University of Sheffield and I look forward to bringing the knowledge and experience from that course to my tutoring.
I am a highly motivated and passionate individual, always keen to learn more and develop new skills. As an English Language and Literature student at The University of Sheffield I have very flexible working hours and a strong desire both to learn and to fulfil my potential. I hope that the next step on the career ladder will bring a wealth of experience that will stay with me throughout my working life.
The Great Escape Game
July 2018 – January 2019
As a Games Master at Sheffield’s most popular escape game company, my chief concern was to ensure the satisfaction of customers both inside and outside of the games. This required me to be proficient in a wide variety of roles, including but not limited to; inbound and outbound sales, catering, bartending, setting and resetting rooms, room maintenance, designing puzzles, and briefing teams. The nature of this role demanded I be both precise and dynamic, giving me an incredibly broad experience and readying me for the most challenging of positions.
J D Wetherspoon plc
September 2016 – January 2017
As a Bar Associate, I performed a variety of roles in an extremely busy and demanding work environment at all hours of the day and night. From bartending to inventory management, waitering to barista responsibilities, I firmly believe that my experience at The Bishops’ Mill has prepared me for any work environment.
DATA ENTRY AND WEB DESIGN
Principle Credit Management Ltd
July 2014 – December 2014
As a Data Entry Clerk, I researched various companies and collected details on their finances, making notes so that the sales team could follow up on the leads that I had formed. As a Web Designer I created and maintained the Company Website.

Following completion of my A-level exams I travelled to South Africa, volunteering in an orphanage caring for 0-6-year-old children. This has opened my eyes to a wide world which I hope to further explore, as well as testing my organisational abilities and ability to cope in unfamiliar environments.
Whilst in secondary school, in association with the ‘Erasmus Plus’ project, I travelled to London and Paris to participate in European Politics projects, including speaking with Former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg in November of 2013.
