Hi, I’m Pete, and I’m presently working at Birkdale, travelling to sunny Gainsborough for lots of GCSE poetry and prose ( who can tire of one's anthology of poems? Polite answers only, please), teaching Macbeth, IELTS ( there's always IELTS ), City and Guilds and the Weimar with a student from Sheffield High.
I like to make lessons fun, I work well with children between 11+ and GCSE's. I like to encourage you to put creativity and individuality into your work, with a foundation of structural and technical knowledge that I can teach.
My teaching method is to be patient and thorough with the work and writing methods, but ensure that the student knows the basics in order for them to write successful answers in their exams. I also have simple ways for structuring answers in exams such as DECADE which is a structural method I swear by in both English language and literature answers.
My teaching method is to discuss the student's ability and what subject area they are finding difficult in advance of a lesson. I then source material to enable me to teach the student and boost their confidence and ability in the subject.
My approach is to understand your child's needs. I will create a plan for your child that builds on their areas for development. I aim to not only increase your child's skills, knowledge and understanding across the curriculum but also to boost their confidence. I look forward to hearing from you.
I like to understand what stage of learning my students are at. This helps me create a plan for them to follow. I believe practice make perfect. So my approach to teaching and learning in General is very practical.
I am an experienced primary school teacher. I can identify areas where your child needs support and encourage their learning in a fun and active lesson plan. My teaching style is a combination of humour and well marked out lessons where children progress in simple steps.
I give lessons to those studying at both GCSE and A-Level. I'm a friendly person and therefore like for lessons to be informal and relaxed, whereby I can tutor the student on a more personal level than may be found in a classroom.
i can be flexible and work with how the children want to learn and how they feel is the best way for them to learn and i can also help them feel more comfortable with what they are learning in school
I would like to help students who are looking to improve their GCSE/KS4 English or KS3 English attainment, or even their basic English literacy.
English Language and Literature tutor for both GCSE and A-levels Methods of teaching include past questions, key quotes and marking and assessing your work in order to give feedback.
I achieved an A* at GCSE in both English Literature and English Language, placing second in my academic year. I absolutely adore reading and understand how difficult English can be for some students. I aim to provide a relaxed environment to enjoy English studies. I studied the AQA exam board. To help students achieve their best, lessons can be structured to suit the student.
Each lesson will be taught differently according to the student i am working with. I believe learning should be fun and interactive to help the student to feel relaxed and so has a enjoyable learning experience and really take a lot away from the session.
I am a passionate and pacient recent graduate in English Language and Literature seeking an opportunity to use the skills acquired from my degree. I have a particular interest in creative writing, having done this as part of my degree - I created a structure based on teaching creative writing as part of my university work.
Have been working in a teaching environment since the age of 13 when I did work experience at a pre-school. While in New Zealand during an Early Childhood Education course, I worked again in a local Primary School. I grew up over in Derbyshire, attending small village schools where younger students were more like siblings. I have always been adept when working with people younger than myself.
In my opinion, the best way to gain marks in English GCSE is practice. I will focus on practice papers, writing under timed conditions, and annotating texts. I may set reading relevant to the syllabus being studied, or papers to do in you or your child’s own time for me to mark in our next session.
My teaching method involves a combination of activities to build long-term skills, as well as assisting students with assignments and classwork from school. I work to establish the level at which my students are achieving, and from this I formulate an individual learning plan for them which takes into consideration their own learning goals.
I believe it is vital to evaluate pupils skills and needs individually, and in doing so I am able to personally tailor lessons to suit individual needs. This flexible teaching method would ensure the best possible outcome for every student.
With primary school students a focus is placed on understanding key concepts within literacy, such as nouns, rhyme, verbs and adjectives. With GCSE students I have previously focused on improving the tutee's skill to close read an extract and pick out stylistic qualities that create a text's meaning.
Depending on the exam structure and specifications, I plan my lessons around the skills required and focus on trimming lesson content to individual needs. In every lesson the learners have an opportunity to discuss their ideas, read stimulating texts to feed the discussions and then write their thoughts down in an organised way.
I teach using visual and creative strategies to help images and methods stick in the mind.
My name is Zaakira, I offer lessons for GCSE and below. I also offer A- level English literature classes and tuition on a one to one basis. I approach my teaching through discussion as I believe the best way to interpret literature is through discussing it. This then prepares an open mind and an analytical approach to any text prior to writing an essay.
I like to teach through interactive resources and games. For children this engages their interest and a hands on approach helps to build better memory and recall of knowledge. I always tailor my lessons to the children's interests, to make sure we engage them fully in the subject.
My teaching style is to create fun, creative lessons which bring out the best in my students and give them confidence in their abilities. I have a strong desire to create a love for reading, writing and creativity in my students.
