About Ivy
I am an enthusiastic and patient piano educator with 11 years of professional teaching experience. Having worked with around 300 students, I have gained valuable experience in adapting lessons to different age groups and skill levels.
My teaching philosophy is based on understanding, discipline, and creativity. I focus on building strong technical skills, including finger control, hand coordination, timing, articulation, and dynamics. I also integrate music theory into every lesson to help students understand harmony and musical structure.
Lessons are organised with a balance between technical practice and enjoyable repertoire. Beginners build confidence through simple exercises and melodies, while advanced students work on complex compositions and performance techniques. I also prepare students for graded examinations and stage performances.
Many of my students have achieved excellent results and gained strong confidence in public performances. My mission is to inspire students to believe in their abilities and develop a lifelong appreciation for music.

My approach to piano teaching combines communication, creativity, flexibility, and structured practice habits. I guide students step by step in developing technique such as scales, chord transitions, timing control, and coordination. I use simple explanations and demonstrations to make learning clear and practical.
Communication builds trust and helps students feel comfortable asking questions. Creativity keeps lessons engaging. Students explore different styles, experiment with dynamics, and learn to interpret music with feeling.
Flexibility allows me to personalise lessons based on individual goals, whether preparing for exams, performances, or learning for enjoyment. I also teach music theory, rhythm studies, and ear development to strengthen musicianship. My aim is to help students become disciplined and expressive pianists
