About Reilly
I just finished my Masters Degree in December 2020 in Applied Gender Studies so as to better learn how to serve and aid marginalized folks in my community. Before that, I graduated with my Bachelors in English in Creative Writing and English Literature. I have an undeniable passion for creating safe and positive learning environments for anyone who asks for my help, and I understand that the American culture surrounding academic English is enormously intimidating. Students are expected to be perfect at it without much training. My goal is to encourage students to keep their own voices in their writing while also completing the task of the prompt/essay question/etc.

I have worked with a huge variety of folks in my time tutoring — spanning all the way from second graders to faculty and staff at the private university I attended for my undergraduate degree. Academic writing is a challenge for a lot of people of all ages and backgrounds, and my constant and consistent goal is to create a work/academic environment filled with grace and mutual respect. There truly are no wrong questions, no bad ideas, and no wrong approaches to completing an academic work. I want the students I work with to feel confident about including their own voice into a piece of writing while also acing the prompt and academic expectations. Academic writing is definitely a forte of mine, and I look forward to sharing it with you!
