About Francesco
I am a doctor in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. I have a wide experience of teaching to high school and university level students, both private and in groups. I also have academic teaching experience: I have been a teaching associate for probability, calculus I and II, differential equations, and dynamical systems, and more recently lecturer of Statistical Physics at Iceland university.

I believe there is no, and there should not be, a unique method to teach. As learning is very personal so should teaching be more based on the students' needs. In teaching maths and physics, I have always found it helpful for students to explain even abstract concepts by beginning with concrete examples: I often base the content of a lesson on useful exercises. Usually, in my classes or during private tutoring, I start off the teaching hour summing up with a few bullet points what the students have been learning so far, I then highlight what will the topic of the day be, and while I explain things I like to interact directly with students, ask them to solve little exercises or answer simple questions.

Perfect! Francesco is a wonderful tutor who helped my daughter hugely! She was struggling with learning how to code and he made everything clear and her coding skills improved significantly. His clear explanations allowed her to easily grasp difficult concepts and hence she became a lot more confident in her skills. We were also grateful that Francesco could adapt to her slightly crazy schedule and made planning our lives much easier! If we ever needed help with scientific coding we would not hesitate to contact him again! Thank you so much for your help and hope to work with you again soon! ️
Perfect! Francesco has been great and he has supported me with Statistics and Calculus in my Master’s degree. He explains everything very well! I am grateful.
- Fabiana is extremely bright and well motivated! She's well organised too. All this makes her a great student and it was a pleasure for me to work with her.Francesco's response :
Perfect! Francesco is my tutor for Advanced Quantum Mechanics. I think he really knows how to divide difficult and abstract concepts into simple knowledge blocks. For example when I was learning how to work with operators in the Hilbert space, he showed me how to use my previous knowledge from matrices so I can better understand the formulas. I really loved that.
He also adds examples from experiments that helped me build an intuition of what kind of result I should expect when solving a QM problem.
He is very patient and knows how to adapt his style to my own learning needs.
I also appreciate his punctuality and consistency as we are working long term towards my exam.
I would definitely recommend Francesco as a tutor.- Amina is a smart student, with great passion for physics. She's also very well organised and it's a pleasure tutoring her.Francesco's response :
Excellent! Francesco is a really smart and friendly person. He is currently doing a PhD and knows the subject matter really well. I really like his teaching method because he tries to get you to solve the problem by yourself by asking questions that will lead you to the answer. He supports his teaching by drawing diagrams and giving examples where necessary. The best thing about Francesco is that if you don't understand something, he is very patient and he will find another way to explain the problem. I highly recommend Francesco as a tutor.
- Yasmin is particularly smart and receptive. It was a pleasure teaching and chatting with her about probability and statistical methods. Looking forward to meeting with her again.Francesco's response :

Francesco and I studied Physics and Maths next to each other for 4 years. He's simply been the person I relied on every time I had a question. He always had a clear understanding of the matter, as well as an ability to explain it in a way that was both in depth and incredibly simple. Moreover, he has always been available and seems to consider teaching as part of his quest to become a complete scientist, a trait which is very rare in the scientific community nowadays.
Francesco is good tutor. Learning with him is a great experience because he manages to give the good examples to help me understand and also explains the issues clearly.
Francesco is a friend of mine. We met when he was still studying physics at Uni. Already back then he was really passionate with both learning physics and maths, and teaching them. I was a computer science student at that time and he helped me out with my first year courses of physics and calculus. He is really patient and he always tries to find an intuitive way to explain concepts, even the tougher ones!
I deeply recommend it to anyone who wants to understand/learn more about quantitative sciences. Whether this will be for passing a university exam or just for passion, Francesco is the good one to support you with your plans.Francesco has been tutoring me for over 2 years now throughout my Bachelor in Mathematics. He helped me with various modules such as Differential Geometry and Complex Networks. Im very very pleased with the quality of lessons and his teaching style. Hes always very well prepared and has in depth knowledge of the topics. Also hes a really nice guy and fun to work with.
