About Kurt Florence
I’m Kurt Florence Ybañez, a Computer Engineering student and DOST Scholar at President Ramon Magsaysay State University. I have close to a DECADE of experience helping students learn, beginning with peer tutoring and academic support during my early school years and continuing through school organizations and private tutoring. I completed junior high as Salutatorian with Highest Honors and have received recognition in research competitions. As a researcher, peer tutor, and student leader, I have developed the ability to explain difficult concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and help students build both academic confidence and genuine understanding.

My lessons are personalized to the student’s current level, learning style, and goals. I focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing formulas, using clear explanations, examples, guided problem-solving, and practice. As a Computer Engineering student and experienced peer tutor, I teach Math, Science, and History to middle, high school, and college/university students. Each lesson typically begins with a quick review, followed by concept discussion, worked examples, guided practice, and questions to strengthen understanding.
