About Thomas
With over 8 years of experience teaching saxophone to college students, I focus on building strong technique, confidence, and musical awareness. My teaching style is calm, flexible, and student-friendly. I believe every student learns differently, so lessons should be personalized rather than fixed.
I train students in tone control, breath support, finger technique, rhythm accuracy, and performance skills. Along with structured practice, I include improvisation and expressive playing to develop creativity. Real-life music examples help students understand how exercises apply to real performances.
I use modern teaching tools such as recording feedback, interactive play-along sessions, and progress-based practice routines. Music theory, ear training, and sight-reading are also included to support complete musical growth.
My goal is to help students enjoy learning saxophone while developing discipline, confidence, and long-term musical skills.

My approach to teaching Saxophone is student-centered, creative, and structured. I believe every student has a unique learning style, so I adjust lessons to suit individual needs. I focus on developing core skills such as breathing technique, posture, embouchure strength, finger accuracy, tone clarity, and timing through simple explanations and step-by-step practice.
Creativity plays an important role in my teaching. Students are encouraged to explore musical ideas, play familiar tunes, and practice guided improvisation. As a mentor, I support students with patience and encouragement, helping them stay confident even during challenging lessons.
Critical thinking is encouraged by teaching students to listen carefully, analyze their playing, and make corrections independently. Accountability is maintained through practice routines, weekly goals, and regular feedback. Along with Saxophone lessons, I also teach Music Theory, Rhythm Exercises, Ear Training, and Scale Studies to help students become well-rounded musicians.
