About Atticus
I attended the University of Florida (with a year at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in Chengdu, China) for a degree in International Studies with a focus on Econ and Chinese. My career path is currently unpaved and winding. Approximately three years of economic development experience at the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, and I'm currently working on a chemical manufacturing startup located in UF Innovate | The Hub.
My professional interests include data analysis (I use R), design, economic writing, market analysis and a passing interest in engineering. I'm always looking for an excuse to practice my mandarin language skills.

I prefer to teach iteratively with a problem solving approach. One failed first attempt teaches us more about a skill than spending an entire day preparing to solve a problem. You start with the problem to be solved then work through relevant texts to make sense of how to approach and solve this problem. After that, it's iterative repetition with open dialogue about the material.
This teaches critical thinking, an active approach to barriers and a willingness to try at any problem whether one feels prepared or not.
