I have been tutoring for 6 years and I only work with students at top universities who are looking for rigorous tutoring to cover the entire coursework in a few weeks and target exams. I have a personal database of questions and past exams that I use to test my students and prepare them for conceptual variations of the material covered in class.
I use a learning oriented style which focuses on making the student understand the concept they are trying to master without having to apply memorization. I have experience working with students with different levels or academic backgrounds. Thus, I am capable of getting the most out of each student in order to meet the students goals. I am dedicated on working closely with the student.
I am a second year student at Durham University and I study pure economics. The economics is very maths based and so my numerical skills have been kept sharp. I can help with most pre-university work for mathematics and economics and if I don't have the answer you need straight away I will ensure I can help you by asking my large group of friends who also study economics.
I am an enthusiastic, young and energetic tutor. My lessons are interactive, concentrating on the practical understanding of the subject matter. I help my students achieve standards that maximise their potential. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach A-level Economics, Mathematics and Statistics. I also teach Degree Level Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics and Economics.
My teaching method is based on delivering the material and make sure the student engage ask question and do activities is very open I make sure that everyone is engaging I like to make student to participate by giving their opinion, views and think outside the box.
Over the last year or so, I have taught almost 50 students. Some in small groups, others in individual lessons. No two students are the same and as it turns out no two lessons should be the same either. A typical lesson works as follows. At the start of each lesson, we develop and agree a lesson plan together.
I nurture the teaching principals used at Cambridge University, whereby students are engaged in a direct, personable manner to understand, learn, and master new concepts. I look to breakdown the barriers student face in their understanding of core concepts.
Studying hard but not grasping the economic concepts? Mocks or 1st year results not what you expecting /need for the university you want to attend, tried an online tutor but it was an awkward experience... Well, you are not alone!! See my reviews and recommendations of how I am helping other students just like you! All you need is a webcam and a skype or google account and we can begin….
My teaching style is based entirely on the students' needs. They are welcome to send questions in advance, or I cover topics based on problem sets/syllabus/textbooks. I ask students to actively participate in the tutorials: discussing (parts of) problem sets, exercising key steps together, or I answer (and ask) additional questions.
My teaching method is tailored to every student that I teach. I will generally employ a flipped lesson structure, with discussion followed by activities. I would be looking to teach undergraduate students (which I have done previously at university). I prefer to start my lessons slowly and cover the basic components of (i.e. economics principles) before exploring more advanced theoretical concepts.
The lesson revolves around student needs: • Exam preparation – we focus on understanding the content, then selected seminar topics and finally exam past papers. • Selected topic work – firm focus on one topic includes highlighting the essential workings and the applications of the course. • Project support – often students don’t know where to start.
My teaching method varies in age group, year group, group lesson and individual lesson. I tend to take the first lesson relaxed and get to know my students well and build a fun and useful lesson to provide the best service also give me the chance to evaluate my student- this gives me an insight on how I should approach them and teach.
My teaching methode emphasizes on the application of the theory learned during classes. In my opinion, it enables the student to have a better understanding and approach of the field. It renders courses more pleasant and interesting for the student.
I am passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their academic goals. I obtained a bachelors degree in computer science and a masters' degree in Software Engineering from the University of Southampton.
Experienced- Individually designed to recipients optimum learning methods. Teaching includes adherence to the assessment methodology of the examination authority and curriculum structure. Regular assessment of recipients understanding and ability to achieve the standards required. Assessment mode mirrors examination boards methods/standards.
My teaching method is flexible, I am willing to work through topic by topic or focus only on specific doubts
I work by giving my students the basic idea of the topic and then strengthening the concept by doing practice questions, both objective and subjective. After the completion of each topic, I take a quiz to see if we are ready to move onto the next topic or if the student needs more help and time on the same topic first.
I use a variety of methods depending upon the situation and how individual students learn. I encourage students to use different ways to learn, whilst adapting my teaching according to what helps them to make progress. I have found that it often helps for students to work out how they want to use my time rather than be passive learners.
The approach that I took to learning this myself means that I am comfortable with teaching this course extremely quickly, and the method of getting the pupil to teach a concept back to me has been proven to have the highest retention rates. In a typical lesson, I would come with stimulus material that we would discuss and then try to apply theory to current events.
My method of teaching is explaining concepts through simple words. No matter how hard the concept is, it is always appreciated when translated to simple terms. I have knack for getting things across to people in a simple manner. I teach in order of preference of the student unless I think it is absolutely necessary in order to follow the structure depending on the subject.
I adapt my teaching methods to the pupils in my class. I use a range of Audio/Visual and Kinaesthetic methods that are oriented toward the development of meta-cognitive skills (learning to learn) and training in critical thinking, analysis and evaluation. I have prepared pupils for I/GCSE and A Level (IBDP) exams in all of the subjects that I teach.
I found my own effective methods to revise and provide the perfect answers to exam questions and I use these when I tutor. I start with getting to know what my students can and can't do. I build a detailed profile of their knowledge and use this to work out what they need to learn next.
My teaching methods vary depending on the student's needs. For those needing to complete an assignment I begin by working with the student to put a plan together. I then ask them to write a first draft for which I will give detailed feedback on to allow them to write the final draft.
I approach my teaching through using the most effective learning techniques that I have spent years learning about (allowing myself to achieve 80% at University so far) and combine this with fun and passion for the topic. I am very patient and have worked with children as a Cabin Leader on a kids camp in America for 3 months.
I typically base my teaching on the curriculum of my students. I can teach to students of all education levels (Undergraduate, A-Level, GCSE etc) and to all levels of ability. I create my own presentations based on the students curriculum and areas where they need the most support.
My teaching method is a combination of in-depth analysis and application of relevant theories and principles. The approach I adopt is to introduce the topic in its broad terms and narrow it down to the specifics. Teaching is a passion and my motivation is to see my students improve. I engage students in the teaching and mostly base my examples on real-life or practical situations.
I'm most suited to teach those students who have upcoming exams as I know the main areas to focus on when revising due to me completing my A-Level economics course (AQA) in June 2018.
I am currently in my final year studying Business Management Bsc, I spend my spare time helping new students develop an understanding of microeconomics, macroeconomics, marketing, and organisation. I like to get to know my students style of learning before we embark on this journey together so would require each new student to undertake a VARK assessment.
Hiya! My name is Raul and I'm currently studying at the University of Birmingham. I got an A* in A-level economics and am now looking to help people succeed in a subject that is both rewarding and challenging. We would look at current events and use them to apply economic theory to understand certain theories such as market structures and would focus on areas that you feel weak in.
I am a Business Management & Economics graduate with a 1st Class Honours degree looking to give economics and business lessons to secondary school and sixth form students. Lesson structure and design will be based on the student's preferred learning methods and the teaching will be built for each individual combined with the student's current curriculum and course.
