About Becky
In my practice as a teacher of gifted/talented students, I am known as a facilitator and an inspiring mentor of student mentors. Science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics have real-world applications for elementary and middle grades students. My curiosity-prompting experiments led to multiple writing, data collection compositions, modeling peer collaboration, and the practice of deductive reasoning. I have been a certified educator since 1995 and have continued renewing this certification in three states to date. My master's degree was completed by crafting critical arguments which were challenged by my peers. (2017) In both professions, I am maintaining client confidentiality as always.

My method of tutoring is by beginning with student engagement and student interest. A typical lesson starts with an activating strategy and an essential question which the student wants answered. What sets me apart is scaffolding teaching and my utilization of graphic organizers which assists the student in getting their content or data organized prior to researching and writing. By implementing the traits of good writers , I have successfully assisted older students and I have also applied this practice to my own articles and manuscripts for future publishing.
