About Gabriel
I’m an experienced and enthusiastic Biology teacher with over 12 years of experience teaching students at university level, alongside one-to-one tutoring and A-level Biology teaching. I currently lead the Science and Engineering Foundation Year at Queen Mary University, where I help students develop the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed.
I’m passionate about making Biology easier to understand and genuinely enjoyable. My lessons are friendly, relaxed and interactive, and I adapt my teaching to each student rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for exams, or simply want to improve your confidence, I’ll work with you to identify what you need and help you make progress.
With a BSc in Biosciences, a Master of Research and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, you can be confident that you’re learning from an experienced and qualified Biology educator. Most importantly, I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their understanding at their own pace.

My lessons are friendly, relaxed and interactive, with a strong focus on making Biology clear, interesting and enjoyable. With over 12 years of experience teaching Biology in higher education, I have developed a teaching style that focuses on understanding rather than simply memorising information.
Every student is different, so I tailor my lessons to your individual needs, confidence and learning style. We might begin by identifying areas you find difficult or reviewing a topic you have recently covered at school or college. From there, I can break down challenging concepts into simple, manageable ideas and gradually build your understanding and confidence.
Lessons can include clear explanations, diagrams, worked examples, discussions, quizzes and exam-style questions. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping you understand how to interpret questions, structure your answers and apply your knowledge effectively. If you are preparing for an upcoming exam, we can focus specifically on the topics and skills you need to improve.
I want my lessons to be a place where you feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and saying when something doesn't make sense. There is no pressure to already know the answer — my role is to help you get there.
Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, want to improve your grades, are preparing for GCSE or A-level exams, or simply want to feel more confident in Biology, I will work with you to set clear goals and make steady progress. My aim is not only to help you perform well in your exams, but to help you genuinely understand and enjoy the subject.
