About Marilyn
Watching the light catch the dust motes on a fresh set of guitar strings reminds me why I spent 13 years teaching 400 students across the city. Playing in 6 bands and touring the metro area taught me that true musicianship requires more than just reading notation. I keep things loose while keeping the structure tight so you actually grasp the music.

Starting with a free trial session lets me assess your current level before we map out your path. I drag my own amp and pedalboard right into your living room so we can work with the exact gear you use at home.
Drawing from my Bachelor of Arts in Modern Music, I break down rhythm guitar and improvisation using the same methods that got me through 13 years of live performance. We tackle grade exam prep and electric technique by applying those real playing situations I picked up on the road. You get the benefit of my touring history translated into practical, hands on advice that avoids all the typical academic fluff.
