About Clara
I'm Clara, a second-year Electrical and Electronics Engineering student in the UK. I grew up in Seattle, Washington, and have spent years teaching and coaching people of all ages and backgrounds, from ski lessons for students aged six to sixty, to English tutoring for students in China with no English language experience.
On the technical side, I work daily with Python, C and C++, and my degree covers embedded systems, digital electronics, control systems, and power engineering. I build personal projects outside of coursework including PCB design, bare-metal firmware, signal processing and FPGA development. This means the coding and engineering concepts I teach are things I'm actively working with, rather than reciting from a textbook.
I'm a patient, methodical tutor who can adapt to how each student learns.

I teach by writing real code together hands-on from the first minute. I explain the concept, we work through an example live, then students try it themselves while I guide their thinking rather than just handing over the answer.
A typical session opens with a quick review of questions about anything that didn't fully click, then we introduce something new in plain language, translate it into code, and apply it to something tangible.
I'm an Electrical and Electronics Engineering student in my final year of undergraduate school, and my experience in studying this material means that I know where the confusion happens and how to work through it.
I teach Python, Java, C++ and web development fundamentals, and can also support electronics and engineering topics like MATLAB and Simulink. Suitable for complete beginners, intermediate level coders and high school students working through a course, or anyone who has started but got stuck.
