About Jonathan
Hi, I'm Jon and I have a first class degree in Electronic Engineering (I'm also an MIET and awaiting IEng confirmation) and have returned to university now as a graduate entry medicine student. I'm DBS checked and have taught informally at various levels for the past 15 years or so, as well as both teaching and planning lessons for others as a part of my roles at work. I've always enjoyed it and one of the greatest pleasures of my roles over the years has been seeing the development of others and helping to bring them along and build their skills. I'm happy to teach from scratch, support your current learning, or just be used as someone to help you brush up on certain things and motivate you to revise.
Send me a request if you'd like to discuss some sessions, and I'll tailor them to what it is that you want.

I teach maths and science across GCSE level, with reach higher for physics, chemistry or maths if requested. I also support SATs revision.
I'm happy to teach from scratch, or work as a revision/re-teaching of subjects in a new way. I usually have a couple of different ways of looking at an area, so if one method doesn't seem to be sticking, I'll have a different way of explaining it.
These lessons are for anyone working towards or at GCSE level; I have also taught basic skills English and Maths L1 and L2, and have experience of students with SpLDs. Age is not a factor, only enthusiasm is.
I will be as flexible as you want with regards to length of lessons and what we cover. If you don't have a preference however, I've found sessions often work best as 1hr, split into: 5 minutes intro/questioning around your understanding so far, 45 minutes covering material, and 10 minutes summary - including suggesting some further exercises if necessary that you can do in your own time.
