Some methods I use to break down a math subject

-write the topic and date on the top of paper
-write a mini introduction to what you will be learning
-Write an example problem
-write and label solving steps from example problem
-box/label formulas
-underline key terms (product,less,total,goes into)

These lessons are for 6th through 8th graders
