The algebraic method is a collection of several methods used to solve a pair of linear equations with two variables. There are two algebraic methods, the Substitution Method and the Elimination Method. The basic rules of algebra are the commutative rule of addition, the commutative rule of multiplication, the associative rule of addition, the associative rule of multiplication, and the distributive property of multiplication.
