About Daniel
I am a London-based recent masters graduate raised in Enfield, North London. I have completed a BSc (Hons) Zoology from Queen Mary University of London and MSc (Hons) Global Wildlife Health and Conservation from University of Bristol.
I have wide-ranging academic interests throughout the sciences and am passionate in engaging students among all age-ranges and abilities. My education and degrees have provided me with varying knowledge of the main sciences, with particular strengths in organismal biology, organic chemistry and atomic structure, and astrology and cosmology.
Apart from my academic studies and voluntary work with animals, I am an avid tennis player and enjoy travelling and visiting the theatre.
I have worked within a secondary school mentoring and tutoring students in key stage 3 and 4 sciences of varying abilities during my studies. This included teaching students with English as their second language. Additionally, I have mentored first-year degree students in various topics of biology ranging from cell biology to conservation and ecology.
My approach aims to holistically teach content and principles, while simultaneously directing students with key formal examination techniques to attain the highest grades possible. Within the sciences (traditional science and mathematical science), fact recall is insufficient to achieve higher grades. I aim to teach students the underlying principles and concepts in an interactive way tailored to their needs, which are then applied to real-life relatable scenarios for a deep understanding of the content. I am here to serve the tutee and can adapt accordingly to their specific requirements.
