About Soma
I’m an experienced teacher who genuinely enjoys the moment when a student suddenly says, “Ohhh… now I get it!”
With 15 years of teaching experience and a Master's degree, I teach English, Mathematics and Reasoning to primary and middle-school students. I have worked with students across different ability levels, from those who need help strengthening their foundations to those preparing for NAPLAN, selective-school and other academic assessments.
I believe good tutoring is not about memorizing rules or simply getting the right answer. It is about understanding why something works, learning how to approach unfamiliar problems and developing the confidence to think independently.

My lessons are structured, interactive and appropriately challenging. I adapt my teaching to each student's level rather than simply following a one-size-fits-all textbook. Students are encouraged to explain their thinking, make connections, tackle unfamiliar problems and learn from mistakes.I teach with patience, high expectations and, importantly, without making learning feel like a punishment.
