About Benjamin
I am entirely self taught on guitar and know what it takes to approach the instrument in a way that allows for self expression. My music reading knowledge is limited but as you will see when you take lessons with me, reading is NOT necessary to becoming proficient on guitar. I specialize in rock, funk, blues, R&B, and gospel playing.

My approach to guitar is very simple. I aim for students to be able to first play all their favorite songs using open chords and understand the relationship between the chords and the key. Then, I teach triads and the pentatonic scale, allowing students to explore these same chord progressions throughout the entire neck. Finally, for more advanced students, I will talk about modes of the major scale and how these are applied in improvisation and composition.
