About Briana
I understand what it's like to struggle in math, but also growing from that and improving. As an engineering-physics major, physics was my passion, but I did not have all the math skills needed to do what I had to do for class and on exams. If I could go back and build a stronger mathematical foundation for myself starting in middle school, I would. But I can help students who are struggling now, as someone who really had to work to improve later on. Competence in elementary math is essential for those who plan to take higher-level math courses in the future. Even if you don't plan to take math courses after high school, a solid foundation in math is important to improve your current grades in middle and high school. I've developed some methods and techniques to improve with practice and repetition, as well as finding many useful resources for self-study and review.

I struggled when starting college in my physics courses and found that I did not have a strong enough foundation in math to do as well as my peers. I want to help learners improve their
elementary math skills (algebra, geometry, and pre-calc). Not only would this foundation help you in future STEM courses, but it is also useful for middle-school and/or high-school tests, as well as the SAT/ACT.
My lessons would be for students in 6th-grade to 11th-grade math classes (such as algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus).
For a typical lesson, a student would tell me what topics they are currently working on in class and where they are struggling. Then, we can work on class examples, homework problems, and exam review problems, or I can suggest example problems from my textbooks. Additionally, I'll carefully review whatever concepts they wish to improve on.
