My lessons begin with outlining the methodology of how to approach and solve a problem, step by step. From there the aim is to practice the process and determine areas of difficulty and explain the process in simple and easy to understand terms. My style is to be supportive wherever possible but ensuring that the student reaches the answer themselves and in there own time, being open to how they may interpret a problem in a different way.
I am an 4th year Engineering student at the University of Sheffield. I have been coaching children of a variety of ages for the past 6 years as well as recently working in a summer camp as a sports coach where I have worked with both individuals and groups. I attained an A and A* in maths and physics respectively at GCSE level and ABB in maths, further maths, and physics respectively at A-level. I assisted as a maths tutor for year 8 aged children at my school during a mentoring programme whilst studying for my A-levels.
