I enjoy inspiring people and making both subjects exciting and memorable. I use a range of teaching techniques from presentations, case studies, audio visual aids and handout exercises. Each student absorbs material in different ways, for example - audio or visual.

In-comm Training and Business Services – Health and Safety Consultant/ Trainer/ NVQ tutor
My duties at In-comm range from teaching Btec and city and guilds 2850 technical certificates in Health and Safety to delivering a range of Health and Safety related training courses in-house and to outside paying companies. These include fire marshal awareness and fire safety courses at all levels, manual handling training, COSHH awareness, general Health and Safety awareness and risk assessment principles and formulation. I also undertake full and general Health and Safety audits at our client companies, primarily engineering workshops and produce reports based on my findings. I formulate power point presentations for course delivery and I am the lead consultant for the in-house Health and Safety documentation monitoring and review at In-comm. My duties consist of updating and reviewing all Health and Safety documentation such as risk assessments, COSHH assessments, document registers, safe working practices, inductions, health surveillance procedures, air monitoring, environment testing eg: lux meter and noise testing, policies at all levels and adhering to legislation changes. I attend quarterly Health and Safety meetings as part of the committee and discuss and implement issues and develop preventative control measures. I also conduct in house safety inspections and investigations. I am currently working towards my NVQ level 5 diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and my Level 3 NVQ in teaching and education assessment. The expected completion date will be February 2018. I also have experience of auditing and process requirements within the ISO 9001/18001/14001 accreditations.
Integrated Water Services - Health and Safety Officer

My duties are writing reports on various Health and Safety audits and issues, compiling advisory materials, visiting sites and advising workers on ways to improve, goals and targets and dates for them to be completed by etc. My other duties include all aspects of clerical work such as building reports and power point presentations for tool box talks, policy development and implementation, diary and time management, excel spread sheets maintenance for accident / incident statistics, compiling and researching “tool box talks” for staff training, COSHH assessments and risk assessments for a variety of jobs and tasks, updating training records and booking training for staff, booking meetings, liasing with clients, contributing to BID’s to win new business and evaluating suppliers. The internal safety audits and inspections were carried out by myself. I was responsible for launching the “near miss reporting” campaign within the business and also looked after vehicle defects and risk assessment writing. It is an extremely busy office environment and I work closely with directors of the company, so professionalism is a must. I have a good sound knowledge of Microsoft office and attend board level meetings. I am often given tasks at short notice and am required to work to deadlines for certain aspects of my work. My other tasks included putting IMS files together for sites and I successfully orchestrated and passed the FORS bronze audit. I enjoy being busy and take constructive criticism well. I believe there is always room for improvement and self- assess my working methods regularly. I have also obtained the NQA ISO qualification for ISO: 9001 / 18001 : 2015
Urban Link Lettings - Accounts and Administration Manager

Duties: I worked in a fast paced office and undertook many tasks on a daily basis. My responsibilities are auditing and processing all of the accounts in the office, undertaking all administration including writing letters to tenants and the council, filing and inputting data onto excel and other similar software. I have written press releases for the business and any other literature required.
I organised meetings and my manager’s diary. I acted as a personal assistant for my manager and often do work for his other businesses. I liaise with the council regarding tenant and landlord issues, conduct property inspections and undergo inventories. I am often given work to do at short notice and have to manage my diary effectively. I have to maintain a professional image at all times and I am required to "problem solve" on a daily basis. My other responsibilities are complaints handling, being responsible for the cash held in the office and the key storage. I can speed type and often type letters as my manager dictates them.

I began this job as a secondary job to my administration position, and was then offered the “in store trainer’s role.

Responsibilities: Cash handling, dealing with complaints, serving customers, motivating the floor staff, food service, opening and closing the restaurant, sales monitoring, stock ordering, complaints handling, table and drinks service, occasional food preparation. I left this position to care for my father.

Received three week classroom based sales training before beginning.
Responsibilities: Calling both existing customers to cross sell them products, and acquisitions to get them to purchase cover. I telemarketed various household, personal and pet / pest insurance, working closely with affinity partners such as Npower and Severn Trent Water. My average was 9 sales a day, I never got less than 85% of my 250 per month target. Homeserve was voted the 65th best company to work for in the Times’ poll, 2005. I left to concentrate on my studies.
