About Chelsea
My name is Chelsea (she/her), and my passion revolves around helping students to understand their own writing superpowers and finding their voice in a world of AI and overlapping opinions. While getting a good grade on a paper is definitely a bonus, my lessons are geared towards my students seeing themselves reflected in their writing. My students walk away from my lessons with a sense of confidence in their ability to effectively and authentically write - be it a poem, an essay, a short story, and so on! My inclusive tutoring style makes room for every type of learner, writer, and thinker. By working with me, you will come to know yourself just a little bit better.

I take time to learn who my student is and what their current understandings are. We will review your assignments/goals and work together from the ground up to ensure personalized comprehension and growth. I work hard to ensure my students' unique voices find their way through in their work, giving them the confidence to use that voice both in and outside of their classrooms. My students have experienced growth in their literary and writing abilities as well as their confidence to do more on their own as our time together goes on. I specialize in working with high school students of all grades and abilities (I also have extensive experience working with students with various physical, mental, and learning disabilities), but I am also able to work with people younger and older than high school levels. I believe everyone has a right to learn effective and personalized communication and writing skills, and I am happy to be a resource.
