About Gerry
I am a first time tutor looking to begin a new journey of sharing the knowledge I have acquired throughout my years of studying.
While I do not have any formal tutoring experience behind me, I consider myself having many qualities that are compatible with being a teacher. I am enthusiastic, passionate, personable, reliable and trustworthy. I enjoy helping my peers with their academic struggles and feel like I would fit naturally into the role of a tutor.
Last year I graduated from the University of St. Andrews, gaining a 2:1 result in English. I have a great eye for detail which lends itself well to essay writing and proof-reading. I have also taken creative writing modules at university where I wrote my own pieces of playwriting.

In the first meeting I would like to gauge the current level and strengths/weaknesses in the subject, focussing specifically on problem areas to outline a lesson/study plan on topics we will work together on to improve.
Everybody learns in different ways, which will be taken into account when planning future lessons.
I will operate a no judgement/no silly questions policy as I am purely at the service of the student to help in any and every way that I can.
