About Kylie
Hello, hello, hello!
My name is Kylie Martins, and I have wanted to be a teacher since the eighth grade! Currently, I am entering my second year in my undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph for English literature and history. Upon completion, I will be enrolling in teachers' college! I have always had a unique way of motivating students and encouraging passion, even if there is a general dislike or discomfort within the humanities subjects. Starting from high school, I have worked in and outside of school as a private tutor and ran whole classes through our teaching program. I am able to work with students of varying abilities and comfort levels and introduce new techniques to inspire students to meet their goals.

Hi there! My name is Kylie, and I'm going into my second year of University at UofG for English and history. I plan to be a teacher after finishing my undergrad, so teaching and helping with my favourite subjects are some of my biggest passions in the world. I have worked in private tutoring and running whole classes for about four years and have loved every minute. I have experience working with a variety of students, from those with dyslexia and ADHD to those who have a general dislike of writing, and I pride myself on my ability to make these lessons engaging and encouraging. I like to learn about my student's personalities and what techniques I can implement to better their understanding of topics while encouraging curiosity and questions. I am well-versed in essay writing at multiple levels and ages, as well as creative writing and poetry. I love teaching core analysis skills and expanding on individual ideas while encouraging the student to learn how to prove their ideas in varying formats. I understand that humanities are not everyone's favourite courses, but I am confident and excited to show students how to find joy in uncomfortable situations and excel in their endeavours.
