About Shauna
I'm currently an MA Magazine Journalism student at City, University of London and previously graduated from Durham University with an English Literature degree. I've been tutoring for over a year now and have seen significant improvements in my pupils.
As for my personal literature tastes, I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen, Zadie Smith, and Nora Ephron. I also love anything by the Brontes.

I take a text-based approach to lessons and teach pupils the appropriate skills through extract analysis of the relevant texts. I want pupils to feel safe and as if they can make mistakes, so we also informally discuss the wider themes of the text which can later form essay answers. I push pupils to analyse the text themselves and guide them through making the analysis. Lessons are typically one hour. I have tutored with MyTutor for over a year. My lessons are for GCSE-level students and A-Level students.
