About Izzy
Hello! My name is Isabella (but everyone calls me Izzy) and I am an English Literature graduate and enthusiast! I have experience in a wide range of English papers and exams, from 11+ (I took 8 entry exams and got into half of which on a bursary) to scoring in the top 10% for the Oxbridge ELATs (English Literature Admissions Tests) in 2021, to graduating with a 2.1 this year in the subject. I also earned 2 ‘9’s and a distinction for both English Language and Literature, and achieved high A’s at A-Level in English Lit, History and Latin. Hence, I know a thing or two about how to write a good academic essay!
I would love to tutor aspiring school students (from ages 10+) on how to improve their skills in reading comprehension, write more articulately, and develop their skills at analysing literature. If any of these areas are of interest to you, don’t hesitate to reach out! I have two younger sisters. I have always been there to help, and been a teaching assistant at primary schools, so I’m very accustomed to working with a range of academic levels. Whatever skills you’re seeking to develop, we can troubleshoot in an induction class and I will go on to plan our lessons together according to whatever you could use the most help in improving.

My teaching methods would range from reading comprehensions to going over written work one to one, which can also include creative writing (a subject I studied as a part of my recent degree). We can go over past papers, or do more active learning, or some combination of both - whichever we discover works best for you.
