About Sasha
I have a genuine passion for English and literature, which extends beyond tutoring and is an ongoing part of my life! I am currently completing my Master’s thesis, which keeps me actively engaged with literary analysis, critical thinking, and academic writing at an advanced level.
Alongside this, I have years of experience both as a high school English teacher, and as a sessional lecturer at my university, working with learners across a range of levels. And yes, I did make sure the background of my profile picture matches SuperProf's colors!

Each student learns differently - I start by figuring out how you will retain knowledge best and then I tailor the lessons to suit your style.
I use a combination of classroom experience and academic training in my lessons. I like to help students understand how English works as a system, which improves both marks and long-term skill.
A typical lesson begins with a short diagnostic or recap to check the student's understanding, followed by focused teaching of a key concept from their syllabus (set works, poetry, comprehension strategy, language structures, and essay writing etc.). We then move into guided practice, where I work through examples with the student, before finishing with independent application and feedback.
I also extend this to university-level academic writing, where I help students structure their arguments and refine their essay technique.
