About Sophie
Hello! I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Valparaiso University in 2018, and my Master of Arts Degree in English Literature and Language (with an emphasis on Young Adult Literature) from Mills College this year. This past semester, I was a Teacher's Aide to freshmen students, and a part-time tutor for students aged 6-13. Previously, I have been a fourth grade teacher, a nanny, and a camp counselor for international students! I love working with students, especially teenagers and college freshmen.

I let my students have as much agency as possible; I wan the students to feel as if they have control over the education and how they receive it. My students work independently as much as possible; I like to think of myself as more of their guide. They are already capable of so much, they only need me to help them lead the way there.
