Hello! As a retiring teacher, I am moving back into tutoring. This is something I did alongside working part-time when I had young children. Now that it's possible to tutor online, I would like to offer this service for GCSE and A' Level.

GCSE: I am happy to support students studying any text and any specification for both English Language and English Literature. I have many years of teaching students of all abilities and can offer lessons tailored to individual students' needs.

GCE A' Level: I have been responsible for supervising and moderating the NEA (coursework), prose and poetry elements of courses over a number of years. I have also supported teaching of the drama texts. This has been for Edexcel, but I can also help with other specifications. I mark the prose paper for Edexcel.

MY LESSONS: Before the first lesson, it is helpful to have a piece of work on which the student would like advice, or some specific topics/texts suggested. Most literature lessons will be looking at texts to consolidate understanding or planning responses to essay questions. For GCSE English Language, I can provide practice with different extracts and strategies for gaining more marks with specific questions. At A' Level, I can work on specific texts or practise exam responses.
