About Maya
I’m a friendly, patient and supportive tutor who enjoys helping students feel more confident in their schoolwork. I’m currently studying Law at university, which has strengthened my skills in communication, writing, research, organization and critical thinking. I understand how important it is to have someone explain things in a clear and approachable way, so I aim to make learning feel encouraging rather than stressful. I teach English, Math and History to students from Grade 1 to Grade 8, adapting each lesson to the student’s individual needs and learning style. My goal is to help students improve academically while also building their confidence and independence.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual level, learning style and school curriculum. I teach English, Math and History for students from Grade 1 to Grade 8, focusing on making lessons clear, engaging and easy to understand. Lessons can include homework support, exam preparation, revision and extra practice in areas where the student needs more confidence. I use simple explanations, examples and practice activities, and I always encourage students to ask questions. Lessons are typically one hour long, with the pace adjusted to suit each student’s needs and progress.
