About Emily
Hi I'm Emily, a History student at the University of Bristol, with a passion for English too! I aim to introduce students to a new confidence when approaching English, as I truly believe it is a subject which can be so much fun when you know what examiners look for. I achieved grade 9 in both language and literature GCSE, and an A* in English Literature.

I am a patient, enthusiastic and adaptable tutor, and pride myself in my ability to unpick what it is that students don't initially understand about English GCSE and A-level. My lesson plans are of course tailored to each individual based on skill and current performance. Due to recently completing English Literature A level, I am very familiar with what mark schemes are looking for, and key ways to structure an essay, no matter the text. This includes 'unseen' pieces of literature and taught texts, whether that be poetry, prose or plays! Understanding what essays require of you can be very difficult and I can work through plans to provide confidence, along with invaluable tips on how to reach those top grades.
