About Oana
About Me Hi! I’m a bilingual English and Romanian speaker with over 3 years of experience teaching English online. I grew up speaking Romanian and started learning English when I moved to the UK at the age of 8. This gives me a real insight into what it means to learn a new language and the challenges we can face - I'm here to help you overcome this! I have worked with learners of all ages, from children just starting out to adults improving their skills for work or travel. As someone who has had to learn a new language myself, I truly understand how challenging — and rewarding — the process can be. That’s why I aim to make my lessons supportive, clear, and encouraging. My goal is to help you feel confident when you speak English, no matter your starting level. I'm professional, organised, and always tailor my lessons to fit your goals and learning style. Whether you want to improve grammar, fluency, or everyday conversation, I’ll guide you every step of the way in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. About My Lessons My lessons are friendly, practical, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on clear communication, building confidence, and helping you make real progress — whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your fluency. Teaching Approach: I use a variety of methods, including: Real-life conversation practice Grammar and vocabulary explained simply Interactive exercises and games (especially for younger learners) Translation support if needed (especially helpful for Romanian speakers) Customised materials depending on your level and goals I always adapt my approach depending on how you learn best — no one-size-fits-all lessons! Lesson Format: Most lessons are 50 minutes long, and I also offer shorter or longer sessions on request. Each lesson includes review, practice, and a bit of fun to keep things engaging. My Background: I’ve been teaching English privately for over 3 years, helping both children and adults improve their grammar, speaking, and confidence. I’m bilingual in English and Romanian, I also have an intermediate level in Spanish. Having learnt different languages myself, I believe this helps me understand your needs when learning and how our lessons can help you overcome these challenges.
