About SARAH
Hi, I’m Sarah!
I have over 4 years of tutoring experience, and I work with students across a wide range of abilities from those who need support building foundations, to high-achievers aiming for top performance.
I take on a limited number of students (up to 8) to ensure each student receives high focus, consistency, and quality support.
I’ve completed my Bachelor of Science from Deakin University with Distinction, majoring in Human Biology, and have currently also completed my Honors year.
This allows students to not just get “answers” but also clear explanations, strong academic structure, and the kind of learning approach that builds real understanding.
Over the years, I’ve built a large library of curated resources, and students get access to:
- my own notes, slides, worksheets, and practice sets
- model responses + writing templates (for essays, analysis, SACs)
- a clear learning plan (so they know what each session will cover)
- access to a shared Google Drive folder with notes/worksheets tailored to their needs
- structured homework tasks when appropriate (short, effective, and goal-based)
What I Value Most:
- clarity where students should leave lessons understanding why, not just memorizing
- Confidence in tasks
- consistency (small improvements each week create big results over a term)
I’ve worked with tutoring agencies, but I now focus on one-on-one private tutoring because it allows for better personalization and stronger outcomes for students.

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual learning needs, academic goals and pace of understanding. With over four years of tutoring experience, I focus on building strong foundational knowledge, improving confidence and developing effective exam techniques.
I offer tutoring for students in Years 5-12, specializing in English, Mathematics, Science, Biology, Chemistry and VCE subjects.
Each lesson includes clear explanations of challenging concepts, guided practice questions, personalized learning resources and constructive feedback. For senior students, I place particular emphasis on SAC preparation, VCAA-style examination questions, time management and strategies to maximize marks.
My teaching approach is interactive, structured and supportive. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically and develop independent problem-solving skills rather than simply memorizing information.
Whether a student needs additional support, wants to improve their grades or is aiming for outstanding VCE results, my goal is to make learning engaging, accessible and rewarding.

Years 5-7 (1:1): $50/hr
Years 8-9 (1:1): $55/hr
Year 10 (1:1): $60/hr
Years 11 (VCE 1/2) (1:1): $65/hr
Year 12 (VCE 3/4) (1:1): $70-75/hr (depending on the subject)
