About David
I have 8 years teaching experience of which 6 has been in London across different schools ranging from Grammar to Academies. I have always taught all the sciences ( Biology, Chemistry, Physics) from KS3- 4 and rotated between teaching Physics and Chemistry at A level and IB. I am currently the lead IB Physics teacher in my school which was judged outstanding by ofsted in 2015. I plan and tailor my lessons to meet the needs of all my students. I always look for the opportunity to incorporate experimental skills in lessons to help students appreciate the limitations of different factors and to be able to analyse and evaluate data. I also place a lot of emphasise on the use of computer programmes such as Excel, Python, Matlab to mention a few to simulate and model abstract theories and make conclusions.

When tutoring I use a lot of kinaesthetic, visual and auditory resources to help deepen the understanding of different concepts. I use a lot of structured and examination questions to scaffold the learning of students. I regularly conduct mini tests for students, which is reviewed, targets set and strategies put in place to achieve them. I specifically do lessons on improving on experimental skills by using simulations and modelling. I also organise lessons for prospective tutees on revision techniques and how to plan effective timetables to help them maximise their independent learning times.
