I think it's important that my students feel relaxed during their studies, so I am keen to be a friendly 'Revision Buddy' more than a teacher. However, I still believe that the learning must be active for it to be most successful, such as learning through questions, talking and testing rather than the passive act of note-taking. I think it is important that my students really understand the concepts we cover, rather than just learn them to pass a test- and this way they will remain in their longer term memory too.
I am a student with an unconditional offer to read Geography at the University of St Andrews in September. This year, I have worked in both a school in Oxford and taught English abroad in Bolivia for 3 months, and am keen to spread both my knowledge and love for education.
