About Garrett
I am an experienced saxophone tutor with 8 years of teaching college students. My aim is to make saxophone learning simple, practical, and confidence-building. I focus on clear explanations and steady improvement so students feel comfortable and motivated.
My teaching includes tone development, breathing techniques, finger coordination, rhythm practice, and expressive playing. I also introduce improvisation to help students explore creativity and build stage confidence. Real-world music examples make lessons relatable and engaging.
I follow innovative teaching methods such as recording reviews, guided practice plans, and interactive play-along sessions. Music theory, ear training, and sight-reading are also part of my lessons to support overall musical understanding.
I create a positive and patient learning environment where students feel free to ask questions and grow at their own pace. My goal is to help students enjoy music while becoming confident saxophone players.

My Saxophone teaching style combines structured learning with creativity and mentorship. I believe music education should be clear, supportive, and motivating. Lessons focus on developing proper breathing, tone control, embouchure stability, finger coordination, articulation, rhythm accuracy, and music reading.
Creativity is encouraged through sound exploration, improvisation practice, and learning songs that match the student’s interests. I guide students as a mentor, helping them manage challenges, build confidence, and develop good practice habits.
Critical thinking is developed by teaching students how to analyze music, understand rhythm and scales, and improve through careful listening. Accountability is maintained through structured practice routines, regular evaluations, and progress discussions. Along with Saxophone, I also teach Music Theory, Sight Reading, Rhythm Training, and Ear Development to support musical growth.
