About Redmond
I am a First Year English Literature undergraduate at the University of Manchester. I have always been passionate about reading and have always loved English Literature, however, I have also always noticed that many of my friends have struggled with English, particularly if they have more of an aptitude for science or maths. I would like to use my skills to helpyou to reach your potential.

Hi! My name is Redmond and I’m a first year English Literature student at the University of Manchester. I achieved 3A* at A-Level in English Literature, French, and Geography, as well as 10A* at GCSE.
I have been tutoring English Language, English Literature, Geography and French online for about 3 months so far and I have nearly 70 hours experience teaching to the AQA, Edexcel, CIE, and IGCSE specifications, especially for students in Year 11 in the run up to their GCSEs but I have also taught Year 10 students who need help catching up or who have specific areas they'd like to work on.
I try and be as flexible as possible with my lessons, since I know that every student learns differently, but in general, I use past papers and worksheets to ensure that my lessons have a clear structure. Particularly for the three subjects I tutor (English Language, English Literature, and Geography) I find that for a lot of pupils their problems lie not with understanding the content but rather with exam technique and time management, which I find can easily be resolved by working through past exam questions. This ensures that the lessons are focused to the exam board and specification you are taking, and helps practice exam technique. In addition to this, I make sure to build in plenty of time for questions and going back over what we've already looked at to solidify understanding.
Since taking my own GCSEs and A Levels, and tutoring, I have accumulated many resources and lots of helpful information for the majority of exam boards which I am happy to share with you.
I have an enhanced DBS check and I am looking at doing some in person tutoring from September 2023, however for the moment I am only tutoring online. Please feel free to send me a message with any questions you might have, I can't wait to hear from you.
