About Richard
I have worked for over twenty years in Asia teaching English, writing and other academic subjects (including two years teaching college level humanities subjects, literature, religion, history). I have an honours degree in psychology from the University of Winnipeg and an Masters Degree in humanities from California State University.

For a subject like creative writing I like to go over elements of developing writing then have students do short writing tasks, perhaps beginning with two sentences and discussing how the ideas connect, then increasing the length of the writing. I like to try and work as closely as I can, giving input to the student on every bit of the writing task, including while they are doing it. Constant feedback and developing a consciousness in the student to the logic of basic construction and linking of ideas would define well my method.
