About Ashley
I have been developing my skill as an artist for almost twenty years. I have recently started teaching privately and am in the process of creating a beginner fundamentals course. I believe that any artist starting out should begin with pencil as a medium as it is the most forgiving.

My classes have a strong focus on technical skill and understanding core principals of art. The first part of my course is to asses your level as an artist and then work from there, covering the fundamentals first and then working our way up to more advanced concepts, such as creative process, prep work and layering.
I am bilingual, able to teach in English or Afrikaans.
A typical lesson for your first year(possibly shorter depending on how much you practice) focuses on learning concepts around fundamentals. Each covers concepts that build on the previous. Aside from learning a technical aspect, you also learn about drawing a subject. Starting at faces and working toward figures and then scenes.
My lessons are aimed at all ages. Younger students may have a slower pace of learning and classes are focused on creativity and practical skills, whereas with older students, we are able to cover more abstract concepts in our art.
